What’s an adjustment layer?
A container/ transparent layer that you put on top of a clip that you can do lots of cool things to.
How do you create & add a new adjustment layers to a project?
Click in project panel, then:
File>New>Adjustment layer OR RC>new item>Adjustment layer
Drag and drop into sequence above your video track, above the one you want to effect.
What’s the benefit of using adjustment layers?
E.g. You can add black & white filter to the layer & it will effect the video track below.
The advantage of this way is that you can stretch the layer to encompass multiple clips so you are adding a filter/ effect to multiple clips instead of having to apply the effect to each clip individually in your project.
You can very quickly test out different ideas instead of processing individual clips.
RE: With adj layers, you are not directly processing the video - your are superimposing the effect (?)
