What are adjectives?
Words that describe nouns i.e. Federico es alto y delgado
What do adjectives agree in?
Number (singular/plural) and gender ( masculine and feminine) with the nouns they qualify
i.e.
el niño es alto los niños altos
la niña alta las niñas altas
*when a masculine noun and a feminine noun share the same adjective the adjective is in the masculine plural i.e. un hombre y una mujer altos y atractivos
What is the difference in these two sentences:
Un hombre grande
Un gran hombre
The positing of the adjective causes different meanings.
Un hombre grande (a big man)
Un gran hombre (a great man)
How would you compare adjectives of a higher degree?
más + adjective + que
el pueblo es más tranquilo que la cuidad
How would you compare adjectives of a lesser degree?
menos + adjective + que
la ciudad es menos tranquila que el pueblo
