Types of adjectives?
- qualitative/descriptive

What are qualitative/descriptive adjectives? Give an example.
To describe the quality of a person or thing, for example its size, general description (physical), age, shape, colour, material, origin and purpose.
E.g. tall, excellent, slim, young.
What are possessive adjectives? Give an example.
Used to show possession. Don’t confuse with possessive PRONOUNS.
E.g. my, your, his, her, our, their, its.
What are proper adjectives? Give an example.
Are formed from proper nouns and always start with a capital letter. E.g. Persian cats, Greek fashion, Hogwarts learners.
What are demonstrative adjectives? Give an example.
To show what person, place or thing is being pointed out.
E.g. this, these, those, that.
What are interrogative adjectives? Give an example.
Used to ask which or what person, place or thing is being indicated.
E.g. which, what, whose?
What are distributive adjectives? Give an example.
Suggests that one is talking about more than one noun in question. Refers to members of a group as individuals, normally used with singular nouns.
E.g. each, every, either, neither.
What are quantitive adjectives? Give an example.
To indicate the number or amount of things. NB- numeral adjectives give the exact number amounts (e.g. first, ninth, seven, three.)
E.g. several, all, little, much, some, enough, no, any.
What are compound adjectives? Give an example.
Made up of two or more words. Often linked together with hyphens to show that it’s one adjective.
E.g. light-weight, duty-free, cold-blooded, well-behaved.
