When does the ON BAT light come on and meaning?
Comes on in amber if aircraft battery supplies at least one IR. It also comes on for a few seconds at the beginning of a complete IRS alignment.
What do the off and fault lights mean on the IR(1,2,3) pushbutton indicate?
Off light - Inertial data output disconnected
Fault light - Amber light comes on with an ECAM caution when a fault affects the respective IR.
Steady fault - the respective IR is lost.
Flashing fault - Attitude and heading information may be recovered in ATT mode
What do the fault and off lights on the ADR(1,2,3) pushbutton indicate?
Off light - air data output disconnected
Fault light - amber light comes on with an ECAM caution, if a fault is detected in the air data reference point.
What does the IR rotary selector do?
Off - ADIRU is not energized, ADR/IR data not avail.
NAV - Normal mode of operation. Supplies full inertial data to systems.
ATT - IR mode supplies only attitude and heading information, if it can’t navigate you must manually enter heading in MCDU and reset frequently.
