Sensitivity-based model (SB)
Christian therapist is sensitive to and actively assesses. the spiritual issues in the clients’s presentation
Integrative based model (IB)
Christian therapist in the integrative based model is sensitive to and actively assesses the spiritual issues in the client’s presentation in a respectable and situational appropriate manner. If spiritual issues exist however the therapist will seek to address with treatment
Doctrinally based model (DB)
Religiously based therapy that underlies the entire approach to therapy
implicit approach
therapist does not openly, directly or systematically use spiritual resources like, prayer and Scripture or other sacred texts in therapy
explicit approach
the therapist might pray aloud in the session.

APA Code- urges psychologists to respect and give dur consideration to individual differences including those based on religion - DB offers the means of doing that in some situations.
Helps for dealing with client value concerns (Sanders)
- Understanding one’s own values
- Respecting Client’s perspective
- Therapist’s disclosure- not always appropriate for counsellor to go into lengthy discussion on their beliefs
- assisting clients who have value concerns
- seeking consultation or supervision
- Being prepared to caringly refer when necessary
