What are causes of fire?
Qi Constraint --- fire rises in the LU Enraged, fire rises in LV Drunkenness or overeating, fire rises in SP Excessive thinking and deliberation, HT Excessive bedroom activity, KD
Where can Fire be found? Location?
ST - toothache, bleeding, ulceration or swollen gumes
GB - yellowing of eyes or red eyes, bitter taste
LI - thick tongue coating, yellow, brown
SI
BL - painful lower abd, difficult urination
TW - dizziness, physical fatigue, heat in palms and soles; hot cloudy sensation in head, sl vertigo
What is Phlegm? Cause?
result of pathological transformation of fluids
abnormal flow of Qi, causing fluids to become turbid, stagnate, congeal
Where can Phlegm congeal?
Chest/Diaphragm
INT/ST
Vessels/Channels
Follows Qi that is ascending or descending
What are two types of Phlegm?
Substantial - cough
Insubstantial

subjective sensation of hearing a noise in one or both ears KD - ears GB - Xs, ears HT, Mind controls senses and orifices LU, PO influences all senses

What is Etiology of Deficiency?
External - excessive drinking and sex
Internal damage from seven emotions, dietary irregularities, overwork, fatigue, and immoderate desires.
