ADC Section 4 Flashcards
What must the ATSA do when AIR is operating on a non-standard frequency?
Update the ATIS to reflect frequency in use
Add a message to the ATIS when non-standard frequency is removed.
What is the maximum aircraft size able to depart/land on runway 26R/08L?
MAX CODE E
Can a vehicle who is not runway certified cross 26L/08R ?
Yes provided they are following a leader vehicle. eg LEADER 3 PLUS 1
What happens when Grasscutters have permission to operate within the CGA?
The runway should be considered occupied with a FDE strip “RWY BLOCKED” added to EFPS
Can a runway certified tug cross from bravo to yankee?
No, they would require a follow me vehicle as runway certified only allows for crossing C-Y
Can a tug cross Y-C during LVOs?
Yes, but during LVPS they would require escorting.
Can you multiple line up A/C from A and M simultaneously?
No, as you don’t know how far the A/C at M will pull forward.
What will AIR do in regards to a pilot or vehicle lost on the manoeuvring area?
With RIMCAS functional, take offs and landings can continue. A runway inspection should be requested.
With RIMCAS not in use. No runway movements permitted
Who determines when the runway is closed?
GAL.
All movements through the runway are then the responsibility of GAL.
When can an approach be made on the non active runway ?
CAT A flight. eg police emergency, engine fault
What are the Air restrictions when block 14 is in use?
Nothing can be cleared to land 26L/08R No A/C can depart 08R During LVOs block 14 with be barriered When a Heavy is lined up from Mike When a SUPER is lined up from ALPHA
When is nothing allowed in block 14?
Nothing permitted in block 14 when
A/C on ILS approach is within 15nM
An A/C is established on the localiser unless it has agreed to approach visually
During LVOs until a departing A/C has crossed the 08R localiser
When ASMGCS is down, runway 08R is in use and J7/J4 are not visible what should AIR do to ensure A/C dont line up on the northern?
A LEADER vehicle should be positioned in the Juliet pan to ensure A/C do not line up incorrectly
.
.
At what temperature do A/C on RNP need to be made aware?
-10oC. They should be notified by KK FIN. however AIR shall notify pilots who are in their control and on RNP approaches
What is a SRA?
A surveillance Radar Approach when KK INT/FIN gives radar vectors to arriving aircraft
How are landing clearances issued with a SRA?
During an SRA KK INT/FIN will request landing clearance when the A/C is at 4nM and again at 2nM if it hasnt already been issued.
When must a landing clearance be issues by?
By the time the A/C crosses the beginning of the runway? (including conditional clearances)
What are the restrictions on conditional landing clearances?
Daytime
No LVPS
26L/08R in use
Controller is visual and landing A/C is visual with traffic
No evidence braking action will be affected
What are the Criteria for a conditional landing clearance after landing on 26L/08L?
The preceding A/C will have vacated or be at least 2500M (GOLF 26L/ BRAVO 08L) from the threshold.
When both A/C are props
The preceding A/C will have vacated or be at least 1500M (50M past Echo 26L/DELTA RET 08L) from the threshold
What are the Criteria for a conditional landing clearance after Departure on 26L/08R?
The departing A/C will be airporne and at least 2000m from the threshold(F on 26L/ C on 08L from Threshold or 2500M (GOLF on 26L/ BRAVO on 08L) if not airborne
For both props
The departing A/C will be airborne or at least 1500m (50m past ECHO 26L/DELTA 08L) from the threshold
When does callsign code pairing drop out?
ETA +15
it can be extended during extensive delays by a General hold from NAS. This prevents SSR code callsign pairing from being lost until it is detected as having landed.
What are the VRPS for Gatwick?
North Terminal
Southern Maintenance Hangar
What is the Criteria for VFR traffic in the CTA/CTR?
A/C 140KTS or less 5kM Vis, clear of cloud, surface in sight
Helicopters 140KTS or less 1500M vis, Clear of cloud surface in sight
