Adaptive immunity process Flashcards
Starting from the primary lymphoid organ :Thymus
Thymus—>Mature T cells that split in 2. This is cytotoxic T cell and Helper T cell.
Helper T cell just helps cytotoxic T cell.
Cytotoxic T cell forms a clone.
Clone splits into active cytotoxic T cells and Memory cytotoxic T cell.
Active cytotoxic T cell leaves lymphatic tissue to attack invading antigens.
This process is called Cell-mediated immunity
Starting from primary lymphoid organ: The red bone marrow
Red bone marrow—> B cells—> helper T cells will help B cells
Then B cell forms a clone. This separates into 2. These are plasmocytes and Memory B cells
Antibodies will bind to an inactivate antigens in bodily fluids
This is known as antibody-mediated immunity which fights again extracellular pathogens.
What are ghe different types of cytokines?
-Interleukin-1
-Interleukin-2
