Q

Give an example of a structural adaptation PB

A

Small features to reduce heat loss
Black skin to absorb heat
White fur to camouflage
Layer of fat to insulate and keep warm
Thick, padded paws to walk on ice

Q

Give an example of structural adaptation G

A

Camouflaged coat to help hide long legs
Long neck to reach leaves high up on trees that aren’t grazed by other herbivores

Q

Give an example of structural adaptation T

A

Stripes to camouflage in grass, helps survival chances as they can stalk prey unseen
Sharp/long teeth + claws to capture and eat large prey

Q

Give an example of structural adaptation, cactus

A

Spines (well adapted leaves) to protect from grazers and to reduce water loss
Stems made of succulent tissue that expand + store large volumes of water that allows it to survive periods of drought
Wide + shallow roots to collect surface water

Q

Give an example of a physiological adaptation Pineapple

A

Close pores on leaves surface during the day to reduce water loss and prevents Co2 needed for photosynthesis from entering the leaves
Collect Co2 at night & store it until needed during the day

Q

Give an example of a physiological adaptive peng

A

Capable of storing large quantities of O2, allows peng to hold breath for up to 22m allowing it to exploit food sources that other species can’t reach allowing peng to survive in areas with high comp for food

Q

What is a behavioural adaptation?

A

Either built in or learned and will increase the survival chances. Affects the way an animal behaves
