sup mes artery (D4 to mid transverse colon)

inf mes artery (distal colon/rectum), you get suprapubic pain
vague then colicky pain
bowel obs
sharp, steady
perf ulcer, appendicitis (late)
dull, severe, constant
intestinal infarction
severe, intense, colicky
ureteral obs
where does pain in biliary system and diaphragm radiate to
shoulder
where does pain in small bowel and pancreas radiate to
back
where does pain in renal system radiate to
groin/perineal
jack-knife position
resist hip extension
psoas abscess
retroperitoneal: pancreatitis, retrocecal appendix
air in bowel wall
gangrenous bowel
calcifications in pancreas
chronic pancreatitis
air fluid levels
small bowel obs
when is ultrasound really useful
solid organs-liver, spleen, kidneys
NOT good for visualising the bowel
