What is ABH ?
A
Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to s.47 offences against the person act 1981 there must be an assault which causes ABH

What does ABH need to be ?
A
The injury needs to not be permanent but it must not be that trivial that it would be regarded as insignificant (Chan-Fook) it can include any injury calculated to interfere with health or comfort of the victim (Miller).

What is psychiatric injury ?
A
It must be more than mere emotions such as fear,distress or panic (chan-fook) and clinically recognised (Burstow)

What is the MR for actual bodily harm ?
A
The MR for the assault/battery there is no need to prove that D had any additional MR for ABH (Savage)
