What is the primary command channel for active shooter incidents?
Blue
Describe a static vs. dynamic incident?
Static: Suspect is out of the area or neutralized. Number of victims is known.
Dynamic: Suspect location is unknown or moving. Unknown number of victims. Additional victims could occur.
What is an RTF?
Rescue Task Force
What is concealment?
Location that hides an individual from view but does not provide protection from gunfire.
What is cover?
A hard barrier that provides protection from gunfire and blast waves.
What is the hot zone?
Any area where the shooter is, could be or an area that has not been cleared
What is the warm zone?
Any area where a direct threat is not present but a potential threat still exists
What is “30-2-Can Do”?
Triage Tool
Less than 30 breathes per minutes
Less than 2 second cap refill
Can obey commands
If all are present, patient is triaged as delayed (yellow). All other injuries patients will be triaged as immediate (red).
