  • Cover Exposures: is the fire impinging on adjacent structures or objects (fuel tanks, vehicles, etc)
  • Extinguish fire: Seek out and attack the source of the fire
  • Overhaul: the process of looking for extension
  • Ventilation: the act of allowing heated gases and smoke escape replacing it with cooler, clean air. Can be accomplished strategically at any time
  • Salvage: protecting the property of the owner by removal or covering. Can be accomplished during any stage of operations
