Start of act 4
The scene opens with the weird sisters casting a spell in a bubbling cauldron. Macbeth entere the scene and demands to know the truth about the prophecies. The sisters conjure several apparitions: the first one tells him that he cannot be harmed by any man born of woman and the third tells him he will not be defeated until Birnan wood marches to Dunsinane
Middle of act 4
Lennox informs macbeth that Macduff has fled to England ; in order to quash the threat, Macbeth has his wide amd children slaughtered.
End of act 4
Macduff tries to rally the support of Malcolm who is instantly suspicious of Macduffs motives. To test nis trustworthiness, Malcolm tells Macduff a series of lies about his own vices, claming he would make a terrible king. Macduff agrees, and thereby proves his loyalty to Scotland. They become allies. Macduff learns that his wide and children have been slaughtered by macbeths men- he vows to take revenge
