Start of act 2
In the plays most famous scene, macbeth imagined a dagger before him (is this a dagger i see before me). The handle pointing to his hand. He kills the king but fails to leave the daggers at the scene. Lady macbeth takes charge, returning the daggers to the scene of the crime smearing the guards with blood
Middle of act 2
The following morning, Macduff is the first to discover King Duncan has been murdered. He wakes the whole castle, screaming that there had been a treasonous murder. He informs Malcolm and Donaldbain immediately. Macbeth kaies a show claiming the guards are guilty and kills them
End of act 2
The kings sons (malcolm and donaldbain) flee to England, worried they will be blamed for the murder. Its not long before Macbeth starts to have guilty thoughts. Ross and an unnamed old man discuss the previous night, claiming Duncans usually calm horses turned wild in nature and bolted out of the stables
