1. “Are melted into air, into thin air;”
2.”And- like the baseless fabric of this vision”
3.”The cloud-capp’d towers, the gorgeous palaces. The solemn temples, the great globe itself”
4. “Dissolve… leave not a rack behind”
5. “We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep”

A
  1. Extetensial- the fragility of life, the fleeting nature of life and power. Soliloquy goes in stages 1. Punish. 2. Rich. 3. Ideology.
  2. Illusion, everything will dissolve.
3.The three manmade structures represent the power of humanity, critique of society, Prospero has a connection to morality and explores the fleeting nature of power, evaluates the meaning of life.
  3. Symbolises the ranks in society, importance of hierachy.
  4. Similie represents a portrayal of humanity, ‘stuff’ flippant, represents Xp himself as he has no more work. Prospero no longer has magic to furthern his life, he is now mortal. Recognition of his audience.
Shifting structures- Nihilistic- nothing else matters. Cyclical pursuit of power, his metaphorical life has been torn away. Humanism? Microcosm for society as a whole. Power vs simplicity.
