banquo is natural and shown to be like most others; he thinks about the prophecies but knows not to interact with them.

macbeth hallucinates; the dagger represents the bloody course on which he is about to embark.
“[1], let me [2] thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.”

imperatives; trying to command the dagger. he tries to win control back from his hallucinations.
MACBETH: “I go, and it is [1]; the bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan; for it is a [2] that [3] thee to [4] or to [5].”
