A device that motor carriers installed and required drivers to use before the electronic logging device (ELD) rule in Dec 2017. While many refer to the FMCSA electronic logs regulation as an ‘ELD Mandate,’ the reality is it’s an ‘AOBRD mandate’. Differences between the two legal standards
BOL
Bill of lading; a document that specifies the contents of a load
CDL
Commercial Drivers License. Drivers who hold this license are referred to as CLD drivers (License)
RODs
Record of Duty Status. A log graph serves as that record (Log)
SMS
Safety Measurement System; Used by the FMCSA to identify high-risk carriers and drivers. Is used as an input to a CSA score

International Fuel Tax Agreement is a quarterly tax that each motor carrier has to file. The report includes the number of miles the carrier’s drivers drove in a particular state, the amount of fuel purchases, the state the fuel was purchased in and the cost of the fuel purchased
