A

1st line treatment: Topical benzoyl peroxide or azelaic acid
2nd line treatment: Oral antibiotics (such as tetracyclines) or oral anti androgens (in females) such as OCP and spironolactone
3rd line treatment: Oral retinoids

A

Acne vulgaris is insulin like growth factor 1 mediated disease. Milk products, hyperglycaemia, smoking can all lead to increased insulin like growth factor 1.
