30 to 60
Pale skin

How does acne rosacea present?
Red rash over the central face- nose, cheeks and forehead
Flushing is the first symptom
Telangiectasis
The rash consists of papules and pustules on an erythematous background
What can exaccerbate the symptoms of acne rosacea?
Sunlight
hot weather, warm baths, stress and spicy foods.
What else can be affected with acne rosacea?
Eyesight- Blepharitis
(inflammation of the eyelid)
What are the general management recommendations for acne rosacea?
Camouflage creams
Sun protection
Avoiding factors causing facial flushing
What is the first line managemet of acne rosacea?
Topical brimonidine gel
What can be used for mild-moderate acne rosacea?
Topical ivermectin
alternatives include: topical metronidazole or topical azelaic acid
What can be used for moderate to severe acne rosacea?
Combination of topical ivermectin + oral doxycycline
When should patients with acne rosacea be referred?
Symptoms have not improved with optimal management in primary care

Laser therapy
