When do you call a code blue?

A
  1. When patient is unresponsive for whatever reason – ask them, try to pinch them? Then call a code blue = no pulse & no respiration
  2. Cardiac arrest, no pulse no respiration

3.Respiratory arrest

  1. You can be the recorder: you’re taking note and learning by observing at the cart
  2. Involved in establishing IV access and delivering medication
  3. Compressor – at the side of the bed
  4. Ventilator – at the head of the bed
  5. Defibrillator – in charge of placing pads on patient
  6. Leader – giving the roles
