6. To increase a… remove … results and … the experiment

A

To find the conc of some alkali:
1. Using a pipette and a pipette filler add a set volume of the alkali to a conical flask and add 2-3 drops of phenolphthalein
2. Use a funnel to fill a burette at eye level, with an acid of a known concentration, and record the volume
3. Using the burette add the acid to the alkali slowly
4. The indicator is pink in alkaline condition and colourless in acidic conditions
5. Record the final volume of acid in the burette and subtract it from the initial volume
6. To increase accuracy remove anomalous results and repeat the experiment

Q

What are weak acids

A

-they do not full ionise in solution
