Q

Tough decisions and own them

Tough decision—EAD

A

Situation: Known as a leader on the design team. Design Director asked me to apply for the EAD role.
Action: I made a list of pros and cons. Talked with friends and family. Then went with my gut.
Result: Realized one pros was stroke to my ego. Despite it being a promotion and raise, I didn’t want to give up hands-on design yet. Even though I could be in a higher position, stand by that as right decision for me.

Situation: As company grew, ADs no longer presented our covers at clinic.
Action: Wanted to understand the reason behind the change. 60 ADs on/off zoom added time.
Result: Cover clinic was streamlined for the team. Saved me time. Allowed focus on written communication for design rationale.
