Q

What is uniform acceleration? How does this apply to gravity?

A

It is constant acceleration and it is due to gravity, when an object free falls they have a constant acceleration.

Q

What does the different stages tell us In a distance time graph?

A

The gradient at any point shows the speed of an object
Flat sections means they have stopped moving
Curves represent acceleration
A steeper graph shows it is getting faster
A curve getting steeper or levelling off shows a change of acceleration

Q

What does the different stages in a velocity time graph tell us?

A

The gradient shows the acceleration
Flat sections show a steady speed
The steeper the graph the greater the acceleration and vice versa
A curve shows a change in acceleration
The area of any section shows the distance travelled
