Liverpool scouse was the worst 15% believed them to be successful

Geordie was thought to be warm and caring
Indian and Asian accents are hardworking and reliable

Study into how ppl adapt to accents and dialects overtime looked at an island with 6000 ppl but had over 40k visitors each summer
Residents adapted their speech to accommodate visitors and over many years the islanders adapted their speech to the majority and it become the norm
Younger generations spoke most like the visitors
Fisherman changed their vowel sounds to sound different to the visitors to seek solidarity/ covert prestige

Estuary English is a variety of modified regional speech its a mixture of non regional and local south eastern English pronounication and inotation if one imagines a continuum with RP and popular London speech at either end Estuary English speakers are to be found grouped in the middle ground
Estuary has these features: glottal stops including some between vowel a general absence of h-dropping and use of standard grammar
