summary of rehabilitation
expressing societys outrage at crime, it menas paying back. it involves inflicting punishment on an offender of vengence for a criminal act. just deserts is based on the idea that criminals shpould get their just deserts: offenders deserve to be punished and society is morally entitled to take revenge. an eye for an eye is a proportionate punishment to the crime, punishmet should be equal which is why murdered get the death penalty.
historical examples of retribution
the death pentaly was common for most crimes. drawing, hanging, quatering. burning was also a common form of capital punishment. women were often convicted of petty treason and were hanged.
