A

Work with the courts to ensure defendants in custody are brought before them. Often give evidence in court. Work with probation in the management of an offender. Work closely with the CPS in the charging and prosecution of offenders. They also help campaigns, sarahs law worked with the police in the child sex disclosure scheme. In addition, Bobby Turnbull’s campaign for a change in the gun licensing laws also liaised with the police

A

Liaison with the police/independent security firms and prisons to ensure safe delivery of prisoners to court. Arrangements of video links if a prisoner is not to attend court for a hearing. Prisoners held in court cells pending their court hearing and return to prison

A

Lawyers may seek visits to prisons for legal consultations. defendants who have been denied bail by the police or courts will be remanded to prison. Work with probation services when a prisoner is to be released.

What is the National Probation Service relationship with other organisations

A

The National Probation Service will work closely alongside the offender after their release, by assisting their resettlement into the community, and their rehabilitation; in an attempt to reduce the commission of further offences (recidivism.) The National Probation Service will work with, and liaise with the Police, should any issues arise. The National Probation Service may also work alongside the Prison Service, should the offender be recalled to Prison.
