What does the Crime Control Model favour?
A conveyor belt or assembly line justice system.
Whose rights does the Crime Control Model emphasise?
The rights of society and victims to be protected from crime.
What theory does the Crime Control model link to?
Links to right realism as they have a zero tolerance to crime.
It also links to functionalism as it has the idea that harsh punishments reinforce society’s morals.
What is the goal of the Due Process model?
To protect the accused of opression.
What is the presumption of the Due Process model?
The accused are innocent until proven guilty.
What does the Due Process model favour?
The rules and procedures protecting their rights from a necessary obstacle course.
What does the Due Process model emphasise?
The rights of the accused individual rather that the victim.
What theory does the Due Process model link to?
Links to Left Realism as it favours the accused individuals rights.
Also links to the Labelling Theory because when offenders
get labelled they develop a self fulfilling prophecy to commit more crime.
