Absorbtion Flashcards
1
Q
Proximal tube
A
The proximal tube has many mitochondria, it also has the active transport of Na+ ions, glucose, and other solutes in the blood
- negative ions move passively, attracted by an electrical charge
2
Q
Loop of henle
A
Reabsorbs water and ions from the filtrate
3
Q
Descending limb
A
Is permeable to water therefore at the bottom of the limb the Na+ concentration is at its highest
4
Q
Ascending limb
A
Is impermeable to water and permeable to solutes
- Na+ diffuses into the blood first and then moves by active transport
