14
Q

kama-tanha vs kama-chanda

A

kama-tanha is like the underlying reward system circuitry and neurological capacity for craving

Kama-chanda is like the firing/activation of that circuit, specifically the conscious experience of craving

17
Q

Sakkaya-ditthi

A

clinging to the idea of self

18
Q

my resistance to go down the path towards experiencing non-self despite intellectually believing self doesn’t exist is what in buddhist terminology?

A

no term exists thoguh you could call it “post-intellectual-annata resistance”

19
Q

what is a metaphor for why no-self may not be necessary?

A

raptor v1 was very complicated, and raptor v3 had less parts, but was still better suited at achieving goals in its environment.

in the same way buddhists and meditators have learned that the more you get rid of your sense of self, the better your sense of well being and ability to function and help others
