Two to three minutes

On arrival at a single unit response for a class E or J alarm the officer shall enter building and

1. Make contact with building personnel
2. Inquire as to alarm source
   3 . Direct building personnel to reseat alarm
3. If panel resets officer remain to assure alarm holds (for two to three min)

If the alarm does not reset or activates again what should officer do

Answer 2

1. View the alarm panel for alarm location and verify floor
2. Officer and remaining will go to location… He will leave a member in lobby
   3 . If officer decides to use elevator for alarm activation above 7 floor when reach floor leave a member in elevator
3. Officer and remaining members will now investigate

Question 3

After investigation Upon any indication of smoke or heat the officer will

Answer 3

Contact fire fighter in lobby or chauffeur in apparatus and request additional help

Question 4

After reporting to member on lobby or chauffeur. That there is smoke or heat condition in the building if a engine company what shall be done next

Engine company returns to lobby
Secure necessary hose
At this time recheck alarm panel and recall elevators
Any additional info relayed to units
Engine company will now remain in lobby and await arrival of ladder company ( unless undue delay of arrivals of additional units)

Question 5

After investigation and finding heat or smoke if unit is a ladder company what shall they do next

Answer 5

Ladder company will not return to lobby because they will have tools
Return elevator to lobby with FF in preparation to transport members
LCC will now report to lobby and gather any additional info available and convey to incoming units

What will ladder company bring if assigned to investigate a class E or J alarm
