When responding to an alarm at a known foreign embassy , consulate or mission we shall obtain all possible information. About alarm type and location form dispatcher . When we arrive at the scene we may be denied access to the occupancy . What shall we do as officers
Explain clearly as possible that the fire or emergency situation may worsen and the importance of entry
Attempt to negotiate to ladder companies entry team investigate (If IC Feels this will endanger members do not commit resource )
Members shall not operate independently
Do not try to enter if denied
If access denied and a fir is suspected or verified than
Stretch handline to front of building or bring roll ups
Officer stage resources to operate when requested
If entry denied do not cause an incident
Protect exposures and set up TL in front of building
Engine procedures
Stretch a hoseline compatible with occupancy and fire conditions found
Ladder procedures
Position TL in front of building
Position aerial and ground ladders for possible rescue
If embassy personnel refuse expanding searches on upper or Lower floors notify IC
IC
All progress or denial of entry shall be immediately transmitted to the dispatcher
If explosives or ammunition involved evacuate immediately and notify NYPD and fire Marshals
Prepare for exterior op and exposure protection
Saving life highest priority if occupants refuse to leave we cannot force them
