Aaska Airbus - Navigation Flashcards
What does the ON BAT light indicate?
The ON BAT light indicates:
(Does not come on during fast alignment)
Batteries supply at least 1 ADIRU
Comes on at the beginning of a complete IRS alignment.
One of the following applies,
All 3 ADIRUS are on and not supplied by batteries, or All 3 ADIRUS are off.
During emergency electrical configuration, ADIRUS 2/3 remain on battery for 5 minutes to hold alignment until a generator can be restored. ADIRU 1 will remain on batter power until generator power is restored or battery 2 fails.
How long will each ADIRU stay on battery power?
ADIRU 2/3 will remain on battery power for 5 minutes to hold alignment or generator is restored. ADIRU 1 will remain on battery power until generator is restored or battery 2 fails.
What information is provided by the “IR” units?
The IR, (Inertial Reference) supplies attitude, flight path vector, track, heading, accelerations, angular rates, ground speed and aircraft position.
What information is provided by the “ADR” units? (BOATS)
Air Data Reference
B - Barometric Altitude
O - Overspeed Warnings
A - Airspeed/Mach/AOA
T - Temperature
What does a steady ALIGN light indicate (older panel with keypad)?
Lights up steady when the respective IR is operating normally align mode.
How does the ADIRS panel indicate that an IR is in Align mode?
IR IN ATT ALIGN (Green) display message.
IRS IN ALIGN X MN (Green) Number of minutes remaining for alignment.
What does a flashing white align light mean?
Align Light: Lights up steady when the respective IR is operating normally in align mode.
FLASHING INDICATES, an IR alignment fault, or no present position entry after 10 min, or difference between position at shutdown and entered position exceeds 1 degree of latitude or longitude.
How is the crew alerted to the FMGS having no current position, an incorrect position or if the aircraft has moved during the alignment?
AMBER - IRS IN ALIGN X MN/IR NOT ALIGNED - ECAM message.
What does the IR push button do on the newer ADIRS panel?
The IR 1/2/3 pb switches are normally in the ON, lights out position:
IR 1/2/3 is on
When pressed, turns off the IR
IT 1/2/3 is OFF
IR 1/2/3 is failed
