A320 Fuel Tanks Flashcards
Description
Wing tanks inner and outer
1 Centre tank (CTR TK)
CTR TK fuel feeds directly to engines by its own fuel tank pumps
Where is IDG fuel returned to?
Fed to the outer wing tanks. If outer tanks fill, fuel spills into the inner wing tanks.
Sequence
AFT 2 and 1 to CTR TK
When inner tank down to 750kg, fuel from outer tank transfers to inner tank.
Automatic Transfer
After 500kg of fuel used in wind tanks, CTR TK transfers to wings.
When Inner tank levels reach 750kg, the outer tanks transfer fuel to inner tanks.
When do the fuel valves rest?
On the ground at the next re fuelling.
Max fuel imbalance TKFO
Inner = 500kg
Outer = 370kg
Max fuel imbalance LDG
Inner = 1500kg
Outer = 690kg
Min fuel temp Jet A1 and Jet A
Jet A1 = -43
Jet A = -36
Max fuel temperature
54
Total fuel quantity
18,813kg
Total fuel capacity in wings combined
12,298kg
Total fuel capacity centre fuel tank
6515kg
Fuel feed sequence
AFT2 to CTR tank then
AFT1 to CTR tank then
Centre tank once 500kg of wing fuel used then
Inner wing tanks
When inner wind tanks reduce to 750kg the outer wing tanks transfer into the inner wing tanks.
Automatic fuel transfer
After 500kg of wing fuel is used then the centre tank is fully drained.
Then once the inner wing tanks have used 750kg the outer wing tanks transfer into the inner wing tanks.
When to the fuel valves test
On the ground at the next re fuelling
