- attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions and decision in an unconscious manner
- activated involuntarily
- can be positive or negative
- everyone is susceptible

A
an involuntary, unconscious, self-directed ‘sabotaging’ of one’s intellectual or physical activity by members of social groups that are negatively stereotyped at being less good at those activities
