It dorsi flexes the foot and extends the toes.

There are 26 bones in the foot.
What are the types of bones found in the foot?
Tarsal, metatarsal, and phalanges.
What is the largest tarsal bone, and where is it located?
The calcaneus, located at the heel of the foot.
What bone forms the ankle joint with the tibia and fibula?
The talus.
What is the role of the metatarsal bones?
They form the ball of the foot and are involved in walking and balance.
How do the phalanges contribute to foot function?
They form the toes and assist in balance and movement.
Where is the gastrocnemius muscle located?
In the back part of the lower leg, forming the calf.

It’s a long, slim muscle on the front of the lower leg.
What is the primary artery serving the lower leg and foot?
The femoral artery.
Function of the dorsalis pedis artery?
Supplies blood to the dorsal part of the foot.
