Abduction
movement away from the midline of the body

Ankylosis
abnormal stiffening and immobility of a joint due to fusion of the bones
Anthrogram
an X ray picture pf the inside of a joint
Chirospasm
spasm of hand muscles
Contractures
permanent tightening of tissues. this includes muscles, tendons, ligaments or skin. it makes it hard or impossible to move nearby joints.
Crepitus
abnormal popping or crackling sound in either a joint or the lungs. they may be faint or loud enough for people to hear.
Ecchymosis
the common bruise. from when blood vessels near the surface of the skin are damaged usually by impact from an injury.
Effusion
accumulation of fluid in an anatomic space, usually without loculation.
Haematoma
localized bleeding outside of blood vessels, due to either disease or trauma including injury or surgery and may involve blood continuing to seep from broken capillaries.
Hypertrophy
increase and growth of muscle cells. an increase in muscular size achieved through exercise.
Inflammation
vital part of the immune system’s response to injury. and infection. it is the body;’s way of signaling the immune system to heal and repair damaged tissue. as well as defend itself against foreign invaders such as viruses and bacteria
Myopathy
a disease of the muscle in which the muscle fibers do not function properly. it results in muscular weakness
Osteomalacia
a disease characterized by the softening of the bones caused by impaired bone metabolism primarily due to inadequate levels of available phosphate, calcium and vitamin D or because the resorption of calcium. the impairment of bone metabolism causes inadequate bone mineralization.
Pronation
the natural side-to-side movement of the foot as you walk or run. your foot normally rolls a bit inward with each step.
