Adventive:
adjective or noun denoting a weed.
Agriculture
: all work aimed at transforming the natural environment to produce plants and animals for human use.
Approved dose:
effective dose of an agent applied to a crop to tackle a target organism such as a parasite or pest.
Agricultural holding:
a company formed with a view to generating agricultural produce and characterized by single management and its own production facilities. An agricultural holding is considered to be any facility over a certain size, which may be either 1 hectare of agricultural land in use, 20 ares of specialist crops, or production exceeding a threshold (1 cow or 6 breeding ewes, etc.).

Artificial Insemination: the process of placing a dose of fresh or frozen semen in the genital tracts of female animals using appropriate instruments.
Agricultural census:
national surveys commissioned by the ministry aimed at characterizing all agricultural holdings.
AA:

Blocking:
division of farmland into separate parts known as “blocks”, each allocated a specific crop during a crop season.

a rounded compressed bundle of fodder (hay or straw) held together by twine or netting.
Balance sheet:
: an accounting tool used to provide a snapshot of a company’s financial situation at any given time. It provides an overview of the company’s assets and financing balance. This is expressed as assets and liabilities.
Bere:
the name traditionally given to 6-row winter barley.
Boar:
a male breeding swine.
Clay:
soil texture component composed of particles whose diameter is less than 2 microns.
Crusting:
phenomenon whereby the top centimeters of soil disintegrate as a result of rainfall.
Cowpat:
bovine feces.
