Who shall administer the ATP for rated and nonrated crewmembers and/or non-crewmembers assigned to flight duties in their respective organization?
The Company Commander
Who have the authority to implement more restrictive controls over regulations, but may not waive or loosen controls without the next higher level approval/waiver authority.
Commanders at all levels
Who can RL3 pilots fly with?
RL3 are restricted to flight with an IP/SP/IE at one set of the controls.
Who can RL2 pilots fly with?
RL2 are restricted to flight with an IP, IE, or UT at one set of the controls.
Who can RL1 pilots fly with?
RL1 may fly with unit PCs.
How long does newly assigned crew members have to turn in their IFRF and IATF?
New crewmembers will present their Individual Flight Records Folder (IFRF) and IATF to the unit Standardization Officer within 14 calendar days after reporting for duty or placement on flying status orders per TC 3-04.11.
Before the first flight, newly assigned crewmembers must complete what four items?
(1) Obtain a DD Form 2992 Medical Recommendation from the local flight surgeon.
(2) Complete in-processing with the A Company Safety Officer.
(3) Complete in-processing with the Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) section.
(4) Complete in-processing with Flight Operations and become current on the unit’s reading card file.
Who is responsible for completing an APART?
Each RL1 crewmember will complete an APART IAW TC 3-04.11.
What are the Commanders options when a pilot fails to meet their APART requirements?
The ATP Commander may elect to:
Grant a 30-day extension,
grant a waiver,
or initiate a Flight Evaluation Board (FEB).
When is an instrument flight evaluation required?
An instrument flight evaluation is required during qualification, refresher, or mission training when more than 12 months has elapsed since the last instrument evaluation by an IE.
Each RL3 crewmember must complete an instrument flight evaluation with an IE when more than 12 months have elapsed since the last evaluation with an IE.
When is formation flight authorized at 15th MI?
Formation flight is not authorized.
How often should a pilot expect a No-notice flight evaluation?
At least annually.
How often must pilots fly at night?
Aviators are required to gain proficiency in all night base tasks during Qualification or Refresher Training.
Once qualified RL1, aviators will be required to fly a minimum of 3 hours night semi-annually or as assigned on the individual’s CTL.
In the event IIMC is encountered, crews must use sound judgment and crew coordination when unexpected IMC conditions are encountered. The primary consideration is aircraft control. The following basic procedure should be followed:
1) Level the wings and turn only to avoid known obstacles.
(2) Set climb power and initiate an immediate climb.
(3) Climb to MEF plus 2000 feet or OROCA/MSA/ESA altitudes plus 500 feet (VFR altitude).
(4) Squawk 7700 and contact ATC on a known frequency or 121.5/243.0. Obtain an immediate clearance for recovery to the nearest suitable airfield and conduct an approved DOD/U.S. Government Instrument Approach Procedure to landing.
(5) In the event IIMC is encountered in the vicinity of Robert Gray AAF, aircrew will follow the above procedure and conduct the ILS approach to RWY 15 or 33, if unavailable, aircrew will utilize the next best approach to the lowest minimums.
