15th MI TACSOP Flashcards
What is BINGO fuel
Transit fuel + IFR Reserve (IAW AR 95-1), unless mission requirements dictates higher
IFF Transponder Mode 1 (M1)
For military airspace use only. Used to provide an ATC ground stationwith the mission profile of the mission aircraft.
IFF Transponder Mode 2 (M2)
For military airspace use only. Used to provide an ATC ground stationwith the identity (tail number) of the mission aircraft.
IFF Transponder Mode 3/A (M3/A)
For military and civilian airspace use. Used to provide an ATCground station with the identity (assigned code) of the mission aircraft. The assignedcode is first received from ATC. It is then entered into the transponder and transmittedback to ATC as a reply. The military Mode 3 is identical to the civilian Mode A.
IFF Transponder Mode C (MC)
For military and civilian airspace use. Used to provide an ATC groundstation with the barometric altitude of the mission aircraft.
IFF Transponder Mode S (MS)
For military and civilian airspace use. Used to provide an ATC groundstation with the identity (tail number), barometric altitude, and ADS-B position of themission aircraft.
IFF Transponder Mode 4 (M4)
For military airspace use only. Used to provide an ATC ground station, missile battery, or another aircraft with a crypto-coded reply to a crypto-codedinterrogation, for the purpose of identifying the mission aircraft as friendly. (IFF-Identify Friend / Foe)
IFF Transponder Mode 5 (M5)
For military airspace use only. Used to provide an ATC ground station, missile battery, or another aircraft with a crypto-coded reply to a crypto-codedinterrogation, for the purpose of identifying the mission aircraft as friendly. This replyincludes the identity (tail number) and ADS-B position of the mission aircraft.
IFF Transponder Mode “4/5 CAUTION”
Illuminates when the ATC ground station, missile battery, oranother aircraft is interrogating in M4 or M5 (as depicted) with a crypto-code that doesnot match the key loaded into the aircraft transponder. In this case the aircrafttransponder will NOT reply. And the crew is alerted that the mission aircraft does notappear as friendly to the interrogator. (Codes are mismatching).
IFF Transponder Mode “5 LETHAL”
Illuminates red when the ATC ground station, missile battery, oranother aircraft is interrogating in M5 lethal format while the mission aircraft is onstandby.* In this case, the mission aircraft transponder is able to replynonetheless to prevent fratricide. (Your transponder is in STBY)“ADS-B” - Illuminates yellow when the ADS-B system is not broad casting (UM-1)
Failure of ASE in flight requires crews to return to base within ______ of ASE failure
30 minutes
The PC should select the optimum track airspeed after considering fuel requirements, the environmental conditions, and the effect/type of the collection effort. Airspeed on track will be no lower than _______ unless under extreme circumstances (i.e. Fallen Angel, TIC, etc).
135 KIAS
FENCE / Operational Checks
The PC should ensure that the following operational checks are completed prior to entering /departing the Mission Area:
F- Fuel – BINGO (calculate & relay playtime as required)
E- Emitters (IR Lighting / Laser / Defensive Sys) (CWS switch in-transit position to on station position)
N- NAVAIDSC-
Communications (Set for Mission)
E- Emergency (MSA / Diverts)
Crew shall attempt contact with the customer ______ prior to on-station
10 minutes
ALL MISSION FLIGHTSshould remain above _______.
5000’ AGL.
