Lipids are found in butter, oily fish
To provide energy , act as an energy store and provide insulation

Meat, fish
Needed for growth and repair of tissue, and to provide energy in emergencies.

Found in liver, and helps improve vision and keep your skin and hair healthy.
Where is vitamin C found and what is it’s function?
Oranges, needed to prevent scurvy.
Where is vitamin D found and what is it’s function?
Found in eggs, needed for calcium absorption.
Where is calcium found and what is it’s function?
Found in milk, cheese, needed to make bones and teeth.
Where is iron found and what is it’s function?
Red meat
Needed to make haemoglobin for healthy blood.
Where is water found and what is it’s function?
Food and drink, just about every bodily function requires water- we need a constant supply to replace water loss through processes like urinating,sweating and breathing.
Where are dietary fibres found and what what are their functions?
Wholemeal bread
Aids the movement of food through the gut.
How does activity level change dietary requirements?
Active people need more energy than people who sit about all day.
How does age change dietary requirements?
Children and teenagers need more energy than older people, they need energy to grow and they’re generally more active.
How does pregnancy change dietary requirements?
Pregnant woman need more energy than other woman, they’ve got to provide the energy their babies need to develop.
Where are carbohydrates found and what are their functions?
Found in: pasta, rice, sugar
