What is Synaesthesia?
perceptual experience in which stimulation of one sense involuntarily triggers anotehr sense
What is mirror–touch synaesthesia?
This is when a person sees another person being physically touched and feels a sensation replicated in their own body.
What is auditory–tactile synaesthesia?
This is where certain audio cues trigger feelings on parts of the body.
What is word–gustatory synaesthesia?
This is when certain words are heard they trigger certain tastes
What is pain synaesthesia?
This is when an individual experiences pain when seeing another individual in pain
What is chromesthesia?
This is when an individual relates certain non-visual stimuli such as sounds and tastes to different colours
What is chromatic audition?
This is specific to when sounds trigger colours
What is time–space synaesthesia?
This is when individuals describe periods of time as being phsyicaly around them in space (Such as: September 15th is on the left of me)
What is a theorie as to why synaesthesia is formed?
