Tests and curriculums are identical across the country which ensures comparability.
- Marketisation of education
Schools run like private independent businesses, education creates innovative entrepreneurial individuals to maintain its position in global economic rankings. Global rankings are used to compare and contrast systems to raise standards.
- Increased competition
Globalisation has intensified competition between nations, leading to a focus on raising educational standards to remain competitive in a global economy. Schools compete for students, students compete for jobs so curriculum has to adapt to meet needs of employers.
- Cultural homogenisation Vs Diversity
Globalisation has lead to the spread of western educational models and ideologies also encouraging diversity as education adapts to local contexts and now incorporates multicultural perspectives due to increased migration.
- Technological advancements
Globalisation has resulted in technological advancements (Google) which have introduced online learning platforms, digital resources, and distance education which has influenced educational policies in regard to access of technology, digital literacy and innovative teaching methods. However this comes with increasing safeguarding risks.
