Introduces the reason/basis behind something
Less common in casual speech. Common speech:

EX:

Their cooperation is based on mutual trust and shared interests
以 + method/tool/manner + 方式 + [V phrase]
Yǐ…fāngshì
Using [some method] as the way;
Tells how something is done
In casual speech, you’d often use:
用。。的方式
用。。來做
靠。。
EX:
他們以和平方式解決了衝突 (chōngtū-conflict)
They resolved the conflict in a peaceful way.
Subject + 前往 + location
qiánwǎng
To go to/proceed to/head to
Can replace 去 or 到 in formal contexts.
EX
請旅客盡快前往登機口
Passengers, please proceed to the boarding gate as soon as possible.
將於….舉行
Subject + 將於 + [time/place] + 舉行 + event
Jiāngyú…jǔxíng
In formal announcements to say when and where and event will take place
EX:
台灣將於 1996 年舉行第一次民主總統選舉
Taiwan was going to hold its first democratic presidential election in 1996
年度音樂會將於下週六舉行
The annual concert will be held next Saturdayl

Cǐjǔ
This action / this measure
EX:
政府決定降低藥品價格,此舉有助於減輕患者負擔
The government decided to lower mediocre prices. This move will help reduce the burden on patients.
以 + [person/organization] + 名義 + do something
Yǐ…míngyì
In the name of…; under the pretext of…
Used when someone claims to do something on behalf of someone or something
In spoken language people usually say:
用。。。的名義
代表。。。
EX:
以正義的名義
In the name of justice
以公司的名義
In the name of the company

A is regarded as B; something is viewed or classified by others as.

EX:

Used to express: encouragement, insult, respect etc
EX:
informal :

It is an insult to the country

Describe someone or something’s current situation or status
EX:
causal vs formal

他正處於恢復狀態
He is recovering
還有 + [action/possibility] + 的空間
Háiyǒu…kōngjiān
There is still room/possibility for
EX:
我的中文還有提高的空間
There’s still room to improve my Chinese
這項計劃還有改進的空間
This plan has room for improvement
可進行 + 一定程度的 [Noun]
It is possible you carry out (something) to a certain extent ; some action can be done but now completely or perfectly
EX
雖然語言不通, 但雙方可進行一定程度的溝通。
Although the languages are different, both sides can still communicate to a certain extent

Jiāng…chǔyú
Will be in a state of..
Used with states or conditions, not actions.
EX:
地球將處於嚴重的氣候變化中
The Earth will be in a state of serious climate change.
Commonly used after 處於:
危險狀態 / dangerous condition
領導地位 / leadership position
發展階段 /development stage
恢復期 /recovery period
低谷 /low point
