Prohibited actions with laser pointing devices
A
- Harassing, threatening, or injuring another person with a laser pointing device is unlawful.
Harassment includes pointing the device at: - Law enforcement officers during their duties
. Athletes or performers at public events - Drivers of vehicles
- Other individuals’ eyes or dwelling places
- Public places to disturb the occupants

Consequences for using laser pointing devices unlawfully
A
- Unlawful use of a laser pointing device is classified as a class B offense.
- If the offense results in eye injury or causes an accident due to temporary blindness, it becomes a more severe class A offense.
- Class A offenses have the highest level of punishment, including the maximum jail time allowable for such violations.
