8.12.025 Toy Guns, Air Soft Guns and Replica Firearms.

Definition: Any device made of plastic, wood, metal, or any other material that resembles a pistol, revolver, shotgun, sawed-off shotgun, rifle, machine gun, rocket launcher, or any other firearm according to Title 15 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Volume 3, Chapter XI, Part 1150 Marking of Toy, Look-Alike, and Imitation Firearms. This definition applies to child’s toys, airsoft projectile-firing guns, and adult collectibles. Excludes police training equipment.

Unlawful Activities Involving Toy Guns, Air Soft Guns, and Replica Firearms
Offense 1: Possession of Prohibited Items

A

Violation: Possessing a toy gun, airsoft gun, or replica firearm without a blaze orange plug permanently affixed to the muzzle end of the barrel, or without a blaze orange marking permanently affixed to the barrel itself, or possessing an item that is not entirely transparent or brightly colored (e.g., white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, or purple) as described in 15 U.S.C. Chapter XI, Part 1150.3.
Penalty: Class B Misdemeanor as defined by the Ordinances of the City of Edmond.

Violation: Drawing, exhibiting, or brandishing a toy gun, air gun, replica firearm, air rifle, pellet gun, or BB gun in the presence of another person, causing them to reasonably believe the possessor has an operable firearm, or unlawfully using it in any fight or quarrel, or simulating a firearm in a threatening manner.
