Linking verbs
* common: is, am, are, have been, was, were, being (then after is commonly an -ing verb)
* 5 senses (look, smell, taste, sound, feel)
* state of being: appear, seems, become, grow, turn, prove, remain
adverbs
- what do they do?
- 3 group examples
- describe a verb, another adverb, or adjective

* to what extent? quite, still
“not” and “never” are also adverbs.
