What is an acid?
It is a liquid that burns corrodes, destroys and damages. It can be concentrate or dilute it will neutralise an alkali since it is the chemical opposite.
What is an alkaline?
An alkali can dissolve in water and may not be a liquid. It can be dilute or concentrate. It will burn and corrode destroy and damage. It is the chemical opposite of acid, so it will neutralise acid.
Examples of acids
Lemon lime vinegar
Examples of alkalise
Toothpaste, beans nuts(toothpaste is alkaline to counteract the acid in our food)
How to neutralise
To neutralise one add the other
Concentrated definition
Higher levels of the solute compared to the solvent
Diluted definition
Higher levels of solvent compared to the solute
What colour is acid with universal indicator?
Red and is at level zero
What colour is the most alkaline with universal indicator?
Purple with level 14
What colour is neutral with universal indicator?
Green at Level seven
