7A Flashcards
What do plant cells and animals have in common
Nucleus,cell membrane,mitochondria,cytoplasm,ribosome
What do plant cells have that animals cells don’t
Cell wall, chloroplasts, permanent vacuole
What does a nucleus do
It stores genetic information and is the control centre for the cell.
What does a cytoplasm do
Gives structure do cell so it doesn’t deflate and it is where chemical reaction happen
What does mitochondria do
It generates chemical energy to power the cell
What does cell membrane do
Regulates transport of materials into and out of the cell
What does a chloroplast do
Where photosynthesis happens and they make food
What does a permanent vacuole do
Stores liquids, minerals and organic materials
What does a cell wall do
Gives protection and strength
What are the factors that all living things must have (MRS GREN)
Movement
Respiration
Sensitivity
Growth
Reproduction
Excretion
Nutrition
What makes a tissue
Lots of the same cells with the same jobs
What do tissues do
Gives protection and support, connects body parts together, allows movement and movement control and acts as covering.
What makes an organ
Lots of tissues form and organ
What colour are chloroplasts and why are they that colour
They are green because they have lots of chlorophyll
What do lots of organs make
An organ system
