Fraternity
- The bonds of comradeship between human beings
- Human relationships naturally based on generosity and solidarity rather than competitiveness

- based on the common ownership of wealth

- A parliamentary route to achieve long term, radical transformation
- in a gradual way through legal and peaceful means via the state

- Ideological system based on writings on Marx and Engels
- inevitable that capitalism will be replaced with communism

A distribution of wealth that is morally justifiable and implies a desire to limit inequality

- A self-understanding of the beliefs related to social class created out of collective struggle
- Leads to exploited class becoming revolutionary class

Historical materialism
Marxist theory that the economic base (the economic system) forms the superstructure (culture, politics, law, ideology, religion, art and social consciousness)

- A process of development that occurs through the conflict between two opposing forces
- In Marxism, class conflict creates internal contradictions within society, which drives historical change
